Here's my translation of Matthew 8:14-34. Please critique.
14 And after Jesus came into the house of Peter, He saw his mother-in-law cast on a bed and suffering with a fever; 15 and He touched her hand, and the fever left her, and she got up and was serving Him. 16 And even though it had become evening, they brought to Him many who were being demon-possessed, and He cast out the spirits with a word, and He healed all who were sick, 17 in order that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through Isaiah the prophet, saying:
"He Himself took our sicknesses
and He carried our diseases."
18 And after Jesus saw many crowds around Him, He gave orders to depart to the other side. 19 And after a certain scribe approached he said to Him, "Teacher, I will follow You wherever You depart." 20 And Jesus says to him, "The foxes have dens and the birds of the sky have nests, but the Son of Man does not have anywhere he may lay His head." 21 And another of His disciples said to Him, "Lord, first permit me to depart go and bury my father." 22 But Jesus said to him, "Follow Me, and allow the dead to bury their own dead."
23 And after He stepped into the boat, His disciples followed Him. 24 And look, a great storm occurred on the sea, so that the boat was being covered by the waves; but He Himself kept on sleeping. 25 And His disciples after approaching woke Him, saying, "Lord, save us! We are perishing!" 26 And He says to them, "Why are y o u cowardly, y o u little-faiths?" Then after getting up He rebuked the winds and the sea, and a great calm occurred. 27 So the men marveled, saying, "What sort of man is this, that even the winds and the sea are obeying Him?"
28 And after He had come to the other side, in the region of the Gergesenes, two men who were being demon possessed met Him who were coming out of the tombs, very violent, so that no one was strong enough to pass by through that road. 29 And look, they cried out, saying, "What do we and You have in common, Jesus, Son of God? Did You come here to torment us before the time?" 30 Now there was, far off from them, a grazing herd of many swine. 31 And the demons were beseeching Him, saying, "If You throw us out, permit us to depart into the herd of swine." 32 And He said to them, "Go." And after coming out, they departed into the herd of swine; and look, the whole herd of swine rushed headlong down the steep slope into the sea, and they died in the waters. 33 And the ones tending them fled, and after departing into the city they reported everything and the things about the men who were being demon-possessed. 34 And look, the whole city went out to meet Jesus, and after seeing Him, they besought Him to pass over from their district.
